Today ETL marks twenty years in business. In 2002, our chairman John Bigerstaff, in conjunction with a small group of additional shareholders, took the plunge and created ETL as a partial management buy-out of tech company PrismTech. The main focus of the buy-out was the company’s development team, based in Blaenau Ffestiniog in North Wales, and data movement software Transformation Manager.
Today, Transformation Manager is, via many updates, still used as the heart of DataHub, our data integration and migration service. Our DataHub projects have expanded to manage data globally for blue chip clients such as Honda and Jaguar Land Rover. And we recently opened a new HQ in the leafy Parc Menai business park near Bangor.
Best of all, our business is now employee-owned, giving each one of our employees a stake and a voice within the organisation.
